White tuna! |

This is what you usually get served when you order "White Tuna" in an American sushi restaurant. And these particular cuts from Catalina are as good as it gets. They come in managably sized blocks that are easy to just defrost slice and serve. It has a delicious buttery flavor that is somewhat similiar to tuna belly. The texture seems to vary a little depending on the cut, but for the most part it's perfectly tender. And you get over two pounds!

I put in an order getting lots of different products. All were extremely fresh and tasty. The Escolar was very good. It wasn't the best I have ever had. Half was excellent of the fillet was a bit firm(but still very good), but that might be from the fish itself. BTW out of the 7or 8 different itmes I ordered, 4 were the best I have ever had. Great resource, I am so glad i found this site.

When we ordered this the first time, we were pleasantly surprised by the light buttery taste and texture. This has become on of our favorites of all the tunas. We will definitely keep ordering this.
