This is wonderful as sushi, sashimi, or used in Lomi Lomi salmon. As good as anything we can get in a sushi bar in Alabama.... actually, better.

The salmon was delicious. Very soft and flavorful. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because after the packages defrosted in the fridge I weighed them and they only came out to 1lb 11.5oz even though I ordered 2lb. With that in mind I would defenitely get the salmon again even if I knew I wasn't going to get the full 2lbs, IT WAS THAT GOOD.

Just to let everyone know I have added 2lbs of salmon to every order since my first. It is always great.

I live in New York City, NY where you can go out of your house and find one or two sushi restaurants per block...but let me tell you that the sashimi grade fish you get here is by far the BEST fish I ever had (considering that I have tried lots of japanese restaurants)...the sake and the hamachi are absolutely delicious, it melts in your mouth and the taste is as fresh as it can get...and even taking into account the shipping charges it comes out to a very reasonable price (more so if you add to it the quality you are getting).

this salmon has a great, fatty flavor. the texture and color is not as brilliant as fresh, but believe me, the flavor is there! and an added benefit of not having to worry about the parasites that may be present in fish that has not been frozen.
