Salmon quality getting worse everyday now |

I agree with many reviewers on this item in the past. I've been ordering Canadian salmon for sushi every month, but the last few months (4/2011 til now 9/2/2011), I do not have any luck with this item. It's getting worse as time goes by. First, they include portions at the very end of the tails which have little meat, mainly the fishy brown layer that need to be thrown away; second, the fish seem to be watering and frosty (I have to squeeze out the water!). Bottom line is I have to either cook or throw away the packages I've ordered in the past few months. I thought I gave it another try, another try, and another try, but it has been consistent. We need another store in San Diego! Catalina Offshore has become a monopoly!

Not as good as it used to be... |

New review: not as flavorful as other salmon sold here in COP. It is still OK, but I'd rather spend an extra $ or $$ and get the other varieties (the NZ one was much better).
Old review: Delicious, very good quality. My only issue is that all the pieces I received were of irregular shape so I ended-up with a lot of "waste" (small pieces that I ate, but did not look nice in sashimi/sushi). Hence only 4*.

I ordered a bunch of fish a few weeks ago. The fresh fish was amazing however, this frozen salmon was not good at all. I ordered 2 fillets and was not happy with them. I'd suggest sticking with the fresh.

salmon& scallion, that Salmon.. my best description.. .it.. overtakes your senses, when you taste it.. you lose yourself for a moment.. you all eat sushi... you know what i meen.. that instant it touches your tongue, how it just ..melts,and you close your eyes, blocking everything else out...you breath it in ... and as you slowly fall back to earth... you realize... you've just experienced.. nirvana.. yep, that's how good it is :)

I made my first purchase from Catalina and am so happy with the outcome. Loved the canadian salmon its delicious with a beautiful color. Made it into rolls with avocado, green onion, cucumber and seasame seeds. Happy i bought 3 lbs the first time, one would have just been a tease.
