Deplorable

This piece of Maguro was closer to brown in color than red. I trimmed it up, seared it Tataki style, wrapped in plastic and chilled it to try and salvage it. Took one bite, spit it out and threw it away. Tasted bad with strong metallic aftertaste. First time I have ever had a problem with COP. Must have slipped by Quality Control.

Is this blue fin tuna?

I just received three pound of tail section of tuna. and the meat color does not even look like Blue Fin Tuna. The color of meat are white to pink instead of dark red. Are you sure this is Blue fin TUNA?

YES, I was!
My initial inspection, it came well packed, it had little to no smell, it had a nice rich deep red color. After trimming the skin off and rinsing it, I couldn't help it, I started cutting a few strips off and dipping them in a little soy sauce/wasabi. OMG! The flavor was as good, maybe even better than what my favorite sushi house serves! It was buttery smooth, with a nice crisp flavor.
This was first purchase from COP… but not my last!

MORE PLEASE! I've finally found tuna comparable to the high end sushi bars. I've tried a few other items, including the various salmons, all excellent. I fear for my IRA.

Cant do better

As a number of other reviewers have noted, I can't imagine a better experience than with CatalinaOP and this Tuna is no exception. The delivery was perfectly timed, the product was amazing, and I will always come back to these guys for my fish. The tuna was fresh, firm and made for some awesome sushi.
