| The groupers we sell include baquetas (Epinephelus acanthistius), Garropas, Bayas, and Leopard Grouper or cabrillas (Mycteroperca rosacea). While the average size of grouper is 5 to 20 pounds some species of grouper can get as big as 6 1/2 feet long and 200 pounds. Most groupers are found in deeper waters of the Sea of Cortez and while they are caught year round, the best availability is from January to July. They are typically caught by hook and line. Grouper is a firm white meat fish that has a mild flavor. They can be grilled or pan-fried. Our fresh and live seafood products are as fresh as you can get because we purchase directly from reputable fishermen in California and Baja California who take great pride in providing the highest quality seafood. The seafood is caught and immediately iced or brought to our live tanks until you order. We package it with care, keep it cold in insulated boxes and ship it overnight with FedEx so that it reaches your door fresher than the vast majority of most supermarkets and restaurants. |
