We sell Pacific Halibut (Paralichthys californicus) and Cortez Halibut (Flounder) (Paralichthys aestuarius). Halibut are bottom feeding fish found near the coast on soft bottoms not too faroff of the Pacific Coast and Sea of Cortez. They are flat fish that camouflage themselves with the ocean floor and are related to flukes, flounders and sole. Cortez Halibut typically range from 3 to 10 pounds, while Pacific Halibut are about 5 to 20 pounds. Halibut are caught by set net and they are more commonly caught during the winter and spring time. Halibut is a moist and tender white meat fish that is delicious pan fried, poached or steamed.

Our fresh and live seafood products are as fresh as you can get because we purchase directly from reputable fishermen in California and Baja California who take great pride in providing the highest quality seafood. The seafood is caught and immediately iced or brought to our live tanks until you order. We package it with care, keep it cold in insulated boxes and ship it overnight with FedEx so that it reaches your door fresher than the vast majority of most supermarkets and restaurants.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not to be confused with the flakier Alaskan Halibut.

Excellent white firm fleshed fish delivered very fresh. It arrived in full boneless skin-off sides ready to cut for the grill. I seared them on a hot grill, placed them in a pan with some tomato/caper/garlic sauce, covered with foil & placed the pan on the grill (to steam) for 2 minutes & served. Moist, sweet and inexpensive.
