This salmon was very soft in texture (use a very sharp knife to prevent tearing) and appeared to be low in fat. Slightly thicker slices made slicing easier and was still easy to eat because of the softness. Also, because of the extremely mild flavor, the thicker slices were not overpowering. Because of the softness and lack of heavy grain, the slicing direction didn't seem as critical. I think this would be great for thicker sliced sashimi. There was absolutely no smell, so it had to be extremely fresh when packaged. I liked this salmon very much, but people who enjoy a heavy salmon taste might want to try a different one.

This has to be the absolute best piece of Salmon I have ever, ever tried!!! So clean, delicate, fresh, and absolutely melt in your mouth good. Made some into sashimi and a small piece I had left over got pan sired with a drop of ginger, garlic wok oil, Cooked medium and served with a sweet ponzu ginger orange sauce I made. It was absolutely incredible. I will be buying this product again, as often as I can!

Salmon Goodness

With all my sushi restaurant visits in the past, salmon was my least favorite because it always seemed to taste like lox to me. The first time I ordered the salmon from COP I was blown away. Definitely not like any sushi bar offering. Melts in your mouth butteryness. Whenever I order sushi from COP I always get the New Zealand salmon because I know it will not disappoint. If you were hesitant about Salmon in the past try this offering and you will not be disappointed.

Remarkabley fresh. Fish was well wrapped, which preserved the taste. With care, I can make it last a week in ice. Loss due to skin and small bones was minimal.

This was the best salmon I ordered from COP, much better than the "regular" frozen salmon that is slightly cheaper. We all LOVED IT.
