These sweet shrimp (amaebi) are caught off the Pacific Coast from Canada to Alaska in traps. They are frozen on the boat and air shipped to us. The delicious tails are eaten raw in sushi bars. The heads are deep fried to make them crunchy and eaten whole. There is approximately eight to ten shrimp per pound and they come packaged in 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) frozen containers.
