Description   We carry frozen sushi grade yellow fin tuna, known as saku tuna, which is commonly used as maguro in sushi bars. It is boneless, skinless, frozen vacuum packed yellowfin tuna that has been cold smoked (processed with filtered wood smoke) to keep its red color. It is a product of Azuma Foods and originates in the Philippines. Yellow fin tuna (Thunnus albacares) are found all over the world, usually in deeper offshore waters. Very good, except the edges... April 13, 2008 Reviewer: Don Riddick from Ashville, AL United States   This was also very good, with the only exception being the edges, which were a little bit "tougher", but still tasty. You can't beat the freshness, and I imagine it was our thawing technique more than the fish, but we had great success with the Maguro. Really, this is a fantastic deal. Exactly what I ordered December 14, 2007 Reviewer: Paul Dunlop from Lilburn, GA United States   I cant complain. It was fantastic, fresh tender etc. It just wasnt as exciting as the other fish we got in the same order. I realize that I prefer a more oily fish like salmon, hamachi or escolar. The spicy tuna rolls were great, the nigiri was fine. However, next time, we are going for the TORO! Was this review helpful to you?
