Mackerel was still rock hard when order arrived. It seemed a little more fishy than it is at my local sushi-ya, but I marinaded it in a vinegar/msg solution at home and it helped. Mackerel is kinda fishy anyway, but it was still good. Texture was firm (marinaded mackerel always is and the skin had typical beautiful tiger stripes on it, so it looked good on the plate. Might order it again.

Had a couple of friends over and everybody loved it. Less pickled and less oily than I've had before: mild and delicious.

This is a bit unfair to the fish... It seemed to me to be of high quality, but I personally did not like the flavor so much. (too strong for my taste buds).

This is as good as any Shimesaba can be. Just right amount of vinegar/sugar. Tororo (shaved seaweed) outside the skin enhances its flavor nicely.

I'm love Saba and this was delicious. As with the Uni and Ikura, I only wished I had ordered more.
