Never ordered this before, as we usually get the yellowfin blocks.

This tuna was great. flavor, texture and color were very high quality. We ate it sashimi style.

Hi Anon,

The white and Pink colored parts are of higher quality (Fat Content) than the dark red sections. If you got a full piece of Pink and White Bluefin tuna at a maguro price consider yourself very lucky.

I just received three pound of tail section of tuna. and the meat color does not even look like Blue Fin Tuna. The color of meat are white to pink instead of dark red. Are you sure this is Blue fin TUNA?

YES, I was!

My initial inspection, it came well packed, it had little to no smell, it had a nice rich deep red color. After trimming the skin off and rinsing it, I couldn't help it, I started cutting a few strips off and dipping them in a little soy sauce/wasabi. OMG! The flavor was as good, maybe even better than what my favorite sushi house serves! It was buttery smooth, with a nice crisp flavor.

This was first purchase from COP… but not my last!

MORE PLEASE! I've finally found tuna comparable to the high end sushi bars. I've tried a few other items, including the various salmons, all excellent. I fear for my IRA.

As a number of other reviewers have noted, I can't imagine a better experience than with CatalinaOP and this Tuna is no exception. The delivery was perfectly timed, the product was amazing, and I will always come back to these guys for my fish. The tuna was fresh, firm and made for some awesome sushi.

I would place the quality in the top tier of any sashimi that I have eaten, and I only had to dispose of a tiny portion of the cut (skin).

Just received 2 lb cut which looked a LOT bigger than 2 lbs. Perfect pieces after easily taking off the skin. After a few cuts it's a perfect sushi block of BLUEFIN TUNA, maguro!!
Great color, very fresh(no smell), great texture and taste. Will buy more
