Toro and Salmon February 1, 2011
Reviewer: Keith Ching from Reno, NV United States
This was the first time ordering and it was great.  The toro did require being trimmed out a bit but the fish was fresh and delicious.  The salmon was also excellent.

Having quality sashimi delivered at home eliminates expense and inconvenience of going out for sushi and sashimi--and the quality of the fish is as good or better than any sushi bar .

Super fresh!
Really Really tasty toro, as good as I have ever had, and better than most if not all sushi restaurants in california
Will definitely order again
Only negative comment is that it comes attached to a rather large piece of bluefin maguro, but that part is the best maguro ever you just pay a lot for it : )

Sensational November 17, 2010

Now you take one look at this and tell me it's not the freshest fattiest piece of tuna you have ever seen http://twitpic.com/37qt5e/full

Granted, you get plenty of maguro and chutoro with this cut (you are pretty much getting a piece from the bottom half of the fish), but it is undoubtedly worth it.  The piece you see in the pic is 2 pounder.  It's expensive, and you get some waste with it like the skin and bloodline and maguro, but I still think it is worth it in the end.  Tha maguro is like the best maguro you can have - that melt in your mouth kind.  I've paid $18 for two pieces of o-toro nigiri at a restaurant and I think that in the end I am paying (at most) half of that when I order from Catalina, including shipping.

Bottom line: I am sitting smack dab in the middle of the United States eating the best piece of fish you can possibly get from the ocean!  Can you put a price on that?  I can't even believe it's possible.  Thank you CatalinaOP and FedEx!

As good as it gets! November 5, 2010

This is an excellent product! I travel for a living, and this fish is better than any toro I have had anywhere in the world.
But keep in mind this piece of fish is a diamond in the rough when it arrives at your home. Be sure to have a proper sashimi knive and do some research on how to cut and prepare the piece, and you will be satisfied.

Highly recommended March 24, 2010
Reviewer: jacqueline Kim from Escondido, CA United States
I found out about this place because of Jeffrey Steingarten and almost wish to keep Catalina Op as my little secret. But I rave about this supplier to all my friends. The toro is excellent and highly recommended. Even though I have received cuts that include maguro (and charged for it no less), I continue to buy my fish from Catalina OP because of the unsurpassed quality and because they earned enough credits in my opinion. I highly recommend the scallops and uni and hamachi too.

I'm spoiled for now. March 16, 2010
Reviewer: David Karczewski from TRAVERSE CITY, MI United States
It is extremely rare for any Toro to show up in my area.  I can only rarely find it in a high line sushi bars down state.  This was as high quality loin as I've gotten, any where, very fresh, very buttery.  The loin did have a little waste, as most loins do.  I made tuna tacos out of that.  I now have friend begging to come over when I order again.

This is the best chu-toro we have had in MN and as good as any at the best places on the West Coast or East Coast.  Highly recommended.

I have eaten sushi all over the world.  This is my first time ordering from Calatina.  My Chutoro/Toro was as good as it gets, as was everything else I ordered.  Great company! Great Value!
