Arrived frozen. Didn't smell fishy, was very colorful and tasted awesome. Literally the best frozen sushi-grade tuna that I've ever eaten.

Great Quality Product. April 25, 2012

I've used Saku blocks in restaraunts for many years. These are some of the best quality I've used. I like keeping a few in my freezer at home for spur of the moment sushi or tuna taretare. Saku blocks are consistent and easy to work with. Next best thing to fresh Ahi.

I am back August 12, 2011

I decided to try sushifishmarket.com because the prices were a little less and they offered Fedex Ground with a guarantee on the fish. Big mistake. My order from them arrived thawed and I had to cook the whole lot. So I complained and they gave me 50% off. I ordered again and all fish was frozen but 2lbs of Albacore Tuna. My menu for the night did not call for that so I had to cook it and refreeze. Then I ordered 5-1lb pieces of sushi tuna and got 4 pieces of varying lbs to make up to the 5lbs. Well this screwed up my menu. There are only 2 of us in my household and we are doing portion control and created our own NutriSystems diet and by sushifishmarket.com assuming they totally messed my menu up. So I complained again and just said you know I am going back to catalina.op. I have been a customer for over 4yrs now and anytime I have ordered my fish is how I ordered it as well as arrives frozen. I will pay a little more to get what I want.

Almost excellent January 4, 2011
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Winchester, CA United States
I would give it an excellent if I was going on most of what I receive; however, I have on occasion received small blocks full of white fibrous tissue where over 1/3 of the product is non-edible unless you cook it and use it in a sandwich.  I think these types of blocks ( the smaller, fibrous ones, should not be slod as sushi/sashimi quality.   Overall I love it though.

Good, not great November 22, 2010
Reviewer: Mitchell Ferguson from San Francisco, CA United States
I like the fact that it comes from Hilo, HI and not Indonesia/ Thialand where the process may be questionable.  I did notice a slight fishiness to it when defrosted.  I did see some browning on the inside of the vaccume seal.  I would use this in a spicey handroll and get the fresh stuff for nigri or shashimi.

Excellent and easy! October 20, 2010
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from bethlehem, PA United States
I used the saku block tuna to make avocado and ahi tartare on wonton crisps.  I did a fine dice on the saku while it was still slightly frozen - perfect! Absolutely no waste on this fish- I used every speck and even my most fish wary guests devoured it!  Not one bit fishy!

Fishy :( October 15, 2010
Reviewer: Natasha Trace from Sherman, TX United States
I'm really bummed.  This Ahi Tuna looked fantastic but as soon as we pulled it from the vacuum pack our house was filled with the smell of fish.  Determined I made sushi with it and we couldn't even eat it :( My fiance and I each ate a bite and couldn't eat another more.  However, the salmon was fantastic so I will think about ordering here again.  Shipping is kind of ridiculous though :(
