Yellowtail Fillets March 30, 2010
Reviewer: Suzanne Barnes from Maricopa, AZ United States
We love yellowtail and we love C.O.P's frozen fillet.  I only have one small complaint and that is there is always quite a bit of the dark meat that is not usable.  I hate to discard it, but ya can't eat it.
We still order it every time even though of the "waste"  You can't go wrong with the flavor or the texture and it is always a hit with friends

Melts in your mouth March 9, 2010
Reviewer: Jesse Nelson from Richmond, IL United States
If your reading this wondering whether or not it worth the price, it is.  Hamachi is one of the best fish there is for sushi and sashimi.  Sahimi lovers will be especially pleased at how sweet and buttery the fish is.  My first fillet was not as fresh as I would have liked and the fishy smell got stronger the next day.  My second fillet had some other problems.  It had some kind of large scar tissue or growth running the length of the fillet inside of it, which had to be cut out.  The fillet didn't hold together well and was falling apart.  There was a significant portion that was too tough to eat, and there was some kind of large calcium deposit in one end that nearly ruined my knife.  I would estimate I had to throw out about a quarter of the fish.  It took me a LONG time to prepare it because it needed so much work.

My Yellowtail was absolutely beautiful and the leftovers on day 2 were even better than what I ate on day one.  I always get yellowtail at the sushi bars and this was unbeatable.  Thank you C.O.P.

Hamachi Heaven September 18, 2009

Most delicious. Only downside is you have to trim a significant portion (dark fresh) away. Its hard to beat good yellowtail. I will order again no problem.

Best Sushi May 30, 2009
Reviewer: Gregory Johnson from Spokane, WA United States
We have been ordering fish from Catalina Offshore Products since 2007 and their fish is fantastic.  The hamachi is probably everyones' favorite.  Excellent texture and flavor.  We have share the sushi experience we ~20 people to date and most claim it is the best they have ever had.  Keep up the great work!

wow March 21, 2009
Reviewer: Todd  C. from Wrightwood, CA United States
This stuff was excellent. My first order with this company (or any for that matter).. and I am very impressed.  the price for this portion is very good.

One thing I found out.. this portion lasts forever... and I eat fish every few days.

Thaw slightly in cold water for about 30 min, cut portions smaller than you think you'll need, wrap in plastic, then foil, the a plastic baggie.

I'll be ordering more soon!

here's a pic of some fish I made the other night.. yellowtail, yellowfin tuna, and eel!

I have always liked yellowtail and although we actually have a few good Sushi places in Kansas, you cant get stuff like this at any price.  Rich and luxurious,  It simply melts in your mouth.

Tip for eating storing 1.6 lbs of Yellowtail November 19, 2008
Reviewer: Carter Broome from Suwanee, GA United States
If you do not intend to eat the entire 1.6 lbs fillet in one sitting, a good way to tackle this is to partially thaw the fillet to the point where you can cut the fillet into pieces.  After you have cut it, freeze the individual sections, keeping one out to fully thaw.
