This salmon was absolutely perfect. I did not waste one little piece of it while slicing for sashimi and the fattiness of the cut was superb and it melted in your mouth! Definitely better than any other salmon I have had at ANY sushi bar out here, highly recommended!

Over the years, I've developed a real love for fish, especially sushi.  Living in New York City, I have access to the best sushi at any time of the day or night.   The downfall is that it's so expensive given the extent of my appetite.  With Catalina's sashimi grade salmon, I can easily thaw and chop up to make a nice seviche or cook for a few minutes in the broiler.  The salmon is really delicious and "good-fatty".  I admit that I was skeptical about ordering fish from the internet, but I'm glad I went ahead and did it, I'm currently on my second order!  The prices and quality are unbeatable, and the customer service is fantastic.  A representative even called me to thank me personally for my order.  So if you're feeling skeptical, just go ahead and give it a try.  If your experience is anything like mine, then you'll be back soon enough for more orders.  Good luck from NYC.

This is wonderful as sushi, sashimi, or used in Lomi Lomi salmon. As good as anything we can get in a sushi bar in Alabama.... actually, better.

The salmon was delicious.  Very soft and flavorful.  The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because after the packages defrosted in the fridge I weighed them and they only came out to 1lb 11.5oz even though I ordered 2lb.  With that in mind I would defenitely get the salmon again even if I knew I wasn't going to get the full 2lbs, IT WAS THAT GOOD.

Just to let everyone know I have added 2lbs of salmon to every order since my first.  It is always great.

I live in New York City, NY where you can go out of your house and find one or two sushi restaurants per block...but let me tell you that the sashimi grade fish you get here is by far the BEST fish I ever had (considering that I have tried lots of japanese restaurants)...the sake and the hamachi are absolutely delicious, it melts in your mouth and the taste is as fresh as it can get...and even taking into account the shipping charges it comes out to a very reasonable price (more so if you add to it the quality you are getting).

this salmon has a great, fatty flavor.  the texture and color is not as brilliant as fresh, but believe me, the flavor is there!  and an added benefit of not having to worry about the parasites that may be present in fish that has not been frozen.

This was the first time I ordered sashimi grade salmon from Catalina.  Before this, I usually go to a nearby supermarket to buy them, which are quite expensive, but are always ready to eat right out the package.  
The salmon from Catalina, while it tasted just as great, required some work.  The two pieces that I got both still have some fish skin/scale on them.  One of them even has a little blood and bones in it that I had to clean out.    Definitely a little more work that I had expected.  On the other hand, the yellowtail I bought from here was much "cleaner".
