Description
Our tuna is hot smoked, fully cooked and has a deep smoky flavor. The tuna used in our smoked tuna includes Blue fin tuna (
Thunnus thynnus
), Big eye tuna (
Thunnus obesus
), and Yellow fin tuna (
Thunnus albacares
and albacore (
Thunnus alunga
). Tuna can grow as large as six feet long and weigh as much as 300 pounds. The average size of tuna is 60 to 100 pounds whole. They are found all over the world, usually in deeper waters. Tuna are more plentiful during the summer, but are available year round. Our wild tuna are primarily caught in boats by long line.
