The cuttlefish is 95% prepped for you, so it is easy to cut & use for sushi (great for beginning home-sushi chefs with little knife skills). The cuttlefish bodies are pre-scored for tenderness, so just unroll each body and slice into nigiri, sashimi-sized pieces, or whatever. Cuttlefish was a little thicker than what I am used to at the local sushi restaurant. Even through the meat is firm, it is very easy to slice & chew. If you have never tried cuttlefish before, the texture is like biting into a firm grape - once your teeth break through the initial resistance, it is very tender. The meat is very white & clean, but there were a few pieces of quill bone. It is transparent, so make sure you check in the pockets before slicing - very easy to remove. Cuttlefish has a mild flavor, so it will taste like whatever you pair it with. If you don't like it as sushi, you can always make unbelievably high quality calamari with it or a Japanese squid salad.

This was a truly enjoyable product. These were well packaged, tender and flavorful! The fact that they are pre slice makes them very easy to work with. I will not hesitate to order again.

Best squid I ever had

This was by far the best squid I ever had. If you don't like squid, get it, if you do like squid, get 2. The texture was perfect, I loved it, firm and in no way chewy. It smelled and tasted fresh. Add a strip of nori for a great synergy of flavor in your mouth. Wasabi and tobiko will round it out perfectly. Next time I'm gonna order several of these. It's flavored with MSG for those who want to know.

I could not believe the generous amount of squid in this package. I absolutely love squid sashimi and this is by far the best I've had anywhere. I will definitely be ordering this again and recommend it to other squid lovers!
